Regulatory Compliance
You can rely on SunCare ES to keep up with the seemingly endless array of new and revised regulations issued by Federal, state, and local regulatory agencies. We can help you from the permitting process through ongoing facility operations--including help with enforcement actions and other matters that may require regulatory responses.

In addition to air quality, which is one of the first and leading issues that arose in the graphic arts industry, we can help you with any or all of the following compliance categories: water quality, wastewater, and stormwater; solid and hazardous waste; hazardous materials; occupational safety and health requirements; and contaminated lands.

Increasingly, businesses are realizing that the development and implementation of a sound EHS management system is a cost-effective solution to this issue. We can assist you in designing and implementing an effective management system, focusing upon the needs of your business and meeting the requirements of ISO14001: 2004 or OHSAS 18001:2007 standards.

REACH
A complex and ambitious new European law, REACH requires industry to ensure that its manufacture and use of chemicals does not harm workers, consumers or the natural environment. However, the impact of this European Union legislation is not limited to the EU—anyone trading with Europe may be affected.

There is mounting concern that many organizations outside Europe are under-informed and ill-prepared for the imminent implementation of REACH. For instance, did you know that exports of substances to Europe will no longer be allowed unless registered by the importer? Non-EU organizations cannot register substances so, unless alternative arrangements are made, your European importer will not be legally entitled to continue to import your goods if it has not pre-registered them by December 1, 2008. This is only the first of many critical deadlines and requirements under REACH that may affect you.

We are working with firms across America and Asia, as well as within Europe, helping them navigate and comply with the complex array of REACH obligations. From advice on obligations and strategic planning to technical analysis and support, we provide comprehensive REACH compliance services tailored to meet our clients’ very different needs. We’ll even register your products on your behalf.

Our comprehensive suite of technical and strategic REACH-related services includes:
  • pre-registration activities
  • data gathering and sharing
  • registration
  • authorisation and restriction
  • Only Representative

Environmental, Health & Safety Due Diligence
SunCare ES can conduct both preliminary and in-depth assessments of potential EHS liabilities to support mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, Management buy-outs, and a range of real estate and financial transactions. Because the results of our work can materially impact the associated transactions, we carefully tailor the scope and detail of our assessments to your particular needs, all with an eye to meeting your quick turnaround requirements.

Carbon Management & Energy Efficiency

Worldwide increases in energy demand and dwindling fossil fuel supplies have driven up the cost of energy. Governments are introducing legislation to encourage reduction of greenhouse gas (including CO2) emissions. Customers are becoming increasingly well-informed about the issues surrounding climate change. These factors converge to make carbon management and energy efficiency an essential element of any financial, environmental and corporate responsibility management strategy for the graphic arts industry. We can help you develop a carbon management strategy to reduce carbon emissions and costs , which frequently entails utilities savings through energy efficiency improvements.

Corporate Responsibility

The public‘s changing expectations of industry accountability seek “sustainable” performance in addition to financial returns. Decision makers are increasingly expected to develop and maintain high standards of corporate governance, environmental performance, and socially responsible behavior. Companies that successfully address these changing expectations stand to gain a competitive advantage over those who do not. We work with clients to define their position on a range of environmental, ethical and social issues, and to establish related corporate practices and behavior.

Site Solutions
We offer a full spectrum of technical, scientific, engineering design and construction, and management capabilities within a single line of services to provide site owners and operators with proven, economical environmental solutions focused on closure. The process involves strategic planning, integrating regulatory and statutory requirements with business considerations, and identifying specific risk-based project objectives. Clients may rely on us for any or all of a continuum of services that includes site characterization, site-specific risk assessment, remedial design and implementation, feasibility studies, construction management (remediation/ dismantlement/decontamination/demolition), solid and hazardous waste management, risk transfer, brownfield initiatives, and beneficial reuse programs for contaminated materials.

UST/AST Management & Closure
Years of dealing with underground and above-ground storage tanks, in all kinds of geographic and environmental situations, has provided us with the expertise you can rely on to help you address the problems associated with these facilities. We can help you with removal and closure; state and Federal regulatory compliance; related soil and ground water remediation; and UST Fund reimbursement assistance.
